Biography
Christel Dolain studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et Physique in Bordeaux. She received her PhD from the Université Bordeaux 1 under the supervision of Dr. Ivan Huc in 2004. She then pursued her research on a recurring theme - biomimetic supramolecular chemistry - through several post-doctorates, first in the group of Prof. Makoto Fujita at the University of Tokyo, then with Prof. Brent Iverson at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2009, she joined Prof. Philippe Barthélémy's group as a post-doctoral fellow, then as ATER at the UFR des Sciences de la Vie, Université Bordeaux 2. She finally joined Dr. Gilles Guichard's team in 2011, first as ATER at Université Bordeaux 1, then as a post-doctoral fellow. In 2013, she was recruited as Associate Professor at the UFR de Chimie of University of Bordeaux and continues her research activities in the CBMN unit in the Peptidomimetic Chemistry group headed by Dr. Gilles Guichard.
Her research focuses on biomimetic supramolecular chemistry, self-assembly and molecular recognition. Her current project focuses on the design and synthesis of multi-stranded beta-sheet foldamers, and peptide-derived foldamers able to interact with biomolecules of interest.
