From January to October 2025, IECB hosted the young start-up Synboli (founded in October 2024) for several months. Synboli is a start-up stemming from the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux.

The founding idea behind Synboli is that polymers (natural or synthetic) are all around us. Several economic sectors are concerned, such as industry, construction, packaging, textiles, automobile, energy, and the environment.

How can artificial intelligence support the discovery of new materials ? Synboli combines its expertise in chemical synthesis and artificial intelligence to accelerate the development of new materials.

Mathieu Pucheault, one of the co-founders, presented Synboli during an internal seminar at IECB on November 20, 2025.

Thanks to a fundraising round (Aquiti and Wind Capital funds), Synboli has moved to a new laboratory in Mérignac equipped with new research facilities.
