Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BBM)

The biochemistry and molecular facility offers strategies design for recombinant protein expression.

The gene of interest is cloned into an expression vector, then the optimal expression system and conditions are selected before expressing the protein in E. coli or mammalian cells. We can produce E. coli biomass up to 5L in bioreactor for high density culture. Purification is carried out using chromatographic techniques. Quality control to assess purity and yield is carried out mainly by SDS-PAGE and UV/Vis measurement.

Equipment, ressources and training are also provided for the production and purification of recombinant proteins.
