Oda focuses her research on the field of multiscale design, synthesis, and application through molecular self-organization. She has a particular interest in chirality and has been working on the development of hybrid organic-inorganic nanostructures, controlled by using chiral nano-assemblies as templates. She is developing hierarchical chiral nanomaterials with controllable morphologies for optical, mechanical, and biological applications.

1998- Group leader « Chiral molecular assemblies» at the European Institute for Chemistry and Biology, and of UMR CNRS 5144 Molécules, Biomolécules et Objets Supramoléculaires (MoBIOS), then UMR CNRS 5248 (Chimie et Biologie des Membranes et des Nanoobjets) depuis 2007.
