Bordeaux will host the 5th International Meeting on Quadruplex Nucleic Acids

The 5th International Meeting on Quadruplex Nucleic Acids will take place in Talence, near Bordeaux, from 26 to 28 May 2015. The IECB has the honor to organize the event.

Launched in 2007, this twice-yearly international event, already been held in Singapore, Italy and USA, will be attended in Bordeaux this year.

Three days of plenary lectures and selected talks are scheduled to take stock of the latest findings in Quadruplex and G-Quadruplex (G4), these fascinating four-stranded structures formed form nucleic acid sequences rich in guanine.

Since the first in vitro characterization in the 60s, studies have demonstrated that G4 are also able to fold in vivo. They could be involved in many cellular processes and explain some disorders. After having been considered as a lab curiosity, G4 are now seen as promising therapeutic targets and the scientific community interested in quadruplexes has grown exponentially.

In addition to a better understanding of the self-assembly of such structures, the aim of the event will be to point out the biological role of the G4 and discover the new potential applications in nanotechnologies, biotechnologies and therapeutics.

An event not to be missed!

Registration is now opened: register on line
